Five tips for filling your site
The mistakes we see most often when people fill a ready site with their own content.
The site is ready; now it needs content. Here are the mistakes we see repeated most.
1. Shrink your images
A photo from a phone can be 5 MB. The system optimises automatically, but resizing to about 1600 pixels wide before uploading is better.
2. Write the About page about your company
This is the most common mistake: the section gets filled with generic phrases. Customers want to know what you do, how long you have been doing it and who you are.
3. Check the contact details
If the phone number has a typo, all your marketing is wasted. Call it yourself after the site goes live.
4. Hide empty sections
Switch off any section you have not filled in. An empty page is worse than no page.
5. Keep the text short
Customers do not read, they scan. Use short sentences and headings instead of long paragraphs.
